La collection de l’Abbaye de Beaulieu-en-Rouergue
Bienvenue dans la base de données des collections de l’Abbaye de Beaulieu-en-Rouergue-collection Brache-Bonnefoi. Cette base comptabilise plus de 1000 œuvres (tableaux, dessins, estampes et livres d’artiste, sculptures, œuvres textiles, œuvres extra-européennes) de 151 artistes différents. La collection de Geneviève Bonnefoi et de Pierre Brache rassemble les avant-gardes artistiques parisiennes des années de l’après-Seconde guerre mondiale, autour de l’abstraction lyrique et de l’art informel. Le couple enrichit ensuite cet ensemble avec des artistes régionaux. Le Centre des monuments nationaux bénéficia de la générosité de Geneviève Bonnefoi et Pierre Brache et de l’association culturelle qu’ils avaient constituée à l’occasion de plusieurs donations (1973, 1981, 2019, 2022). Cette collection d’art moderne autour des avant-gardes des années 1950 constitue l’une des premières de France, formant un ensemble cohérent et représentatif de l’art de la seconde moitié du XXe siècle. Le monument conserve également une collection constituée d’éléments lapidaires provenant du site, présents sur la base.
Collection of the Beaulieu-en-Rouergue Abbey
Welcome to the database of the Beaulieu-en-Rouergue Abbey Collections and the Brache-Bonnefoi Collection. This database features more than 1,000 artworks (paintings, drawings, prints and artists’ books, sculptures, textile works, non-European works) by 151 different artists. The collection of Geneviève Bonnefoi and Pierre Brache brings together the Parisian artistic avant-gardes of the post-Second World War years, focusing on lyrical abstraction and informal art. The couple later enriched this collection with regional artists. The Centre des monuments nationaux benefited from the generosity of Geneviève Bonnefoi and Pierre Brache and from the cultural association they had set up, through several donations (1973, 1981, 2019, 2022). This collection of modern art, based on the avant-gardes of the 1950s, is one of the first in France, forming a coherent and representative overview of the art of the second half of the 20th century. The monument also has a collection of stone elements from the site that can be found on the database.
